As the temperature is raised, the corrosion rate (of zinc on steel in aqueous environments) increases, but above 60 º C the corrosion products change from a loose gelatinous form to a very condensed form and the corrosion rate is much reduced. Sometimes reversal of the galvanic potential difference occurs and attack on any exposed parts of the iron is then considerably stimulated.
